Wedderburn rally driver Brendan Reeves and his sister Rhianon Smyth as his co-driver have finished fourth in Rally Portugal after clawing their way after a puncture nearly spoilt their weekend.
Highlight of racing in the six-stage event included a 3.27-kilometre street stage in Lisbon with a crowd estimated at 40,000 on the sidelines.
The duo was competing at round three of the World Rally Championship after winning the Pirelli Star Driver shootout in Spain last year.
“I am very happy with our result considering we lost four minutes because of the puncture. We kept working hard all through the rally and steadily improved our stage times,” he said.
The duo flew home this week to prepare for the Targa Tasmania before returning for their next WRC Academy event in Italy on May 5.
