UNDERCARRIAGE: Bendigo’s B52s.
»
BENDIGO focal point Ken Wilson bagged eight goals as the Bendigo Masters Football Club (the B52s) downed the Werribee Tigers by 65 points on Sunday at White Hills.
The home side got off to a flying start with early goals to Peter Kirkwood and Wilson, before Werribee hit back with a couple of their own.
The B52s went up a gear in the second term as the midfield combination of Adrian Dixon and Brett Hickman picked up kicks at will while zippy small man Phil Kerr added bite around the packs.
In the third term, the home team was aided by plenty of defensive run from Matt Felini, and Jason Bateman stood tall down back. The game was iced by a Darren Skinner left footer against the boundary in the last quarter.
Final scores: Bendigo 15.14.104 defeated Werribee Tigers 5.9.39.
Goals: Ken Wilson 8, Adrian Dixon 2, Brett Hickman 2, Peter Kirkwood 1, Phil Kerr 1, Darren Skinner 1.
Best Players: Adrian Dixon, Ken Wilson, Matt Felini, Dave Collins, Brett Hickman, Jason Bateman.
The B52s’ next game is on June 18 against the Murray Bushrangers in Albury.
