ONE of Bendigo’s iconic landmarks is turning blue.

Sacred Heart Cathedral’s stunning lights will turn blue later this month, to help raise awareness of prostate cancer.

As part of the Paint the Town Blue campaign, the lights will be blue from August 31 to September 8.

Monsignor Frank Marriott said the Bendigo and District Prostate Cancer Support Group would provide the logistic support to enable this project to go ahead.

“We hope that as the spire is a sign of hope and inspiration for all to seek assistance from above,” he said.

“The blue spire will help us all to give tangible support to community support groups like the Bendigo and District Prostate Cancer Support Group.”

I went out the front tonight and saw it blue, I was wondering what was going on, it looks as though it's been put under ultra violet light... My first thought was that it looks dark, like Maleficent's castle! Lucky it's for a good cause though!
