Did the earth move for you this week?

Geoscience Australia recorded a 2.7 magnitude earthquake near Shelbourne shortly at 9.38pm.

Briana Downing of Kangaroo Flat said she felt the quake.

"I herd the rumble my husband saw things shake," she told the Bendigo Weekly's facebook page.

Locals Marion Cagney and Nick Grist also felt the quake.

Amanda Stenton-Dozey was surprised.

"I heard it but had no idea what is was," she said.

Kerryn Davies noticed a small intrusion to her night.

"Here in Kennington our computer's screen saver turned off as though someone had moved the mouse but we didn't feel it," she said.

Lloyd Carpenter of Christchurch put the quake into perspective.

"Please excuse my mirth. I live in Christchurch," he said.

"When it gets above four, it's worth a headline. When it's below 2.5 it's at the level of a good sneeze."
